Masks will be required during ILTACON.
On July 27, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued updated guidance advising that the vast majority of COVID-19 transmissions take place between unvaccinated individuals, and confirming vaccines continue to do an exceptional job of combating the spread of the virus. Based on updated information, in areas with substantial and high transmission, the CDC now recommends fully vaccinated people wear masks in public, indoor settings to help prevent the spread of the Delta variant and help protect others. Further, the CDC recommends community leaders encourage vaccination and universal masking to prevent further outbreaks in areas of substantial and high transmission.
Additionally, on July 27, the Governor of Nevada issued Emergency Directives 045 and 047 issuing a mask mandate (full text can be found via the links
here). On the same day, the Nevada Gaming Control Board adopted guidance stating “everyone, regardless of vaccination status, should wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission.” Clark County is specifically identified as an area subject to this new guidance.
In alignment with applicable guidance from the CDC, the Governor of Nevada, the Southern Nevada Health District guidance, the Clark County Commissioners, and the Nevada Gaming Control Board, masks will be required for ILTACON attendees.
